Wollogorang is the original Aboriginal name for the area and its lagoon located near Breadalbane, south-west of Goulburn. It basically stretches between the Hume Highway and the Federal Highway. The area was already known of in the early colonial writings of Major Thomas Mitchell in 1828. Wollogorang was also the name given to the historic homestead built around 1845 on the property of the same name, and owned by Captain Henry Edenborough. It was later sold to John W. Chisholm and since the 1920s it belonged to the Watson family.
