The following resources can help you trace your convict ancestors, from their origins in the UK all the way to Australia and Goulburn.

Inverary Convict Index
Inverary (near Bungonia) was a very early area of New South Wales and was the Police District that extended as far as Braidwood, Goulburn and surrounding areas. This Index has been compiled by Researcher Tom Bryant from Ann Smith’s Convicts of the Bungonia Region, and contains information on convicts sent to the Goulburn region.

State Records of NSW
The State Records of NSW provides online access to a large number of convict indexes, shipping manifests, trial records, tickets of leave indexes, and muster and census data.

Convict Records of Australia
Convict Records of Australia is a searchable database of British convict transportation records for convicts transported to Australia between 1787-1867.

Old Bailey Online
The Old Bailey website is a fully searchable website containing nearly 200,000 records of criminal trials held at London's Central Criminal Court, including 90,000 convicts sentenced at the Old Bailey between 1780 and 1875.
