Request for reconsideration of a Library resource

Should you believe an item is not appropriate for inclusion in the Library’s collections, you may request a review of the item and/or removal from the Library’s collections.

Please consider that while you have the right to make decisions for yourself and children in your care, this right does not extend to making decisions for other Library users or children in their care.

Your request will be assessed by a panel of appropriate Library staff in accordance with:

Materials will not be rejected on moral, political, racial, or religious grounds if they otherwise meet selection criteria. A perception that material may offend or cause controversy to a person or a group of people is not, of itself, a reason to limit purchase or provision of an item containing that material.

Please note, once an item has been assessed, it will not be re-assessed for a period of 12 months. After this period there will be regular reviews of removal decisions. Changed circumstances over time may result in access to removed material being reinstated.

A note on parental responsibilities

Parents and guardians are legally and morally responsible for items accessed and borrowed by their children. They have the right to guide the reading, viewing, listening, and playing of their children, but they must give the same right to other parents and guardians.

Please complete all fields below. Incomplete requests will not be assessed.
