Springfield is an historic sheep-farming property granted to William Pitt Faithfull in 1827. The property, with its homestead and numerous outbuildings is located on Braidwood Road, Tirrannaville, 15 km south of Goulburn across Gundungurra land. The native name for the area was Coorangangennoe. Springfield's main residence was built in 1857. The property remained within the Faithfull family through successive generations, and was ultimately inherited by great grand-daughter, 'Bobbie' Florence Maple-Brown.
