It's the first day of seventh grade, and Tommy Tomkins has a new backpack, a new shirt...and a new face. Tommy isn't an ordinary middle schooler. He and his family are refugees from the centre of the earth, lizard people disguised as humans to blend in on the surface. Fitting in at middle school is tough, even if you don't prefer bugs for lunch. But Tommy finds friends in fellow new students Dung Tran and Scarlett Roberts. The three become inseparable until Tommy uses his powers of disguise in a way that undermines his friends. To make things right, he will have to risk showing his true face.
