Subject: This environmental impact statement has been prepared in support of a development application by Marula Holdings Pty Limited, seeking approval for extraction, processing and transport of quartzite, sand, gravel and related products from the applicants quarry at O'Allen NSW. The subject site is located within Mining Leases 887 and 888 and has a total area of 442.8 hectares ... The intended development is essentially secondary to the operations for which development consent has already been given. That is, the proposal seeks to extract and reprocess the overburden created by the extraction of gold. This process will then produce, in addition to gold, gravel and sand. Following the granting of consent the extraction of gold, the production of sand and gravel would be incorporated into one complete process.
